Five For Friday {Linky Party...May 31st}

fiveforfriday

I cannot believe it....It's my first Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching and I am super excited to link up and share some of my Friday Favorites!

Here are my five:

{ONE}

Working on plans for our beach vacation in Late July/Early August...searching for the perfect condo has been consuming TOO much of my time!

 {TWO}

The weather outside is looking stormy!!!  I do LOVE me some storms but not when they are coupled with the threat of tornadoes, yet again.  Praying for a safe night across the Ozarks!

 {THREE}

So my bestie, Erica McKimmey, and I are walking it up almost everyday.  We are so {OBSESSED} with our new theme: {TRANSFORMATION}... and we are determined to make strides to get SKINNY over summer break!  Here's a cheer for getting into shape...and a BIG BOO for having to diet over the summer!  Yuck!

{FOUR}

My obsession, right now, is new clipart...I am keeping Scrappin' Doodles in business, to say the least.  I am loading up on beach themed clip art, probably because I am dreaming about my above vacation and because the ideas are flowing for my new Beach Themed Pack full of Summer Resources!  Now I need to kick it into high gear and get to work!!!

{FIVE}

My newest Teacher's Pay Teachers/Teacher's Notebook addition:
Father's Day {A Mini Craft Unit}
I directly relates to my Mother's Day Unit and after many requests to make a Father's Day Unit...I finally finished it off last night!  I am thrilled to share it with you all.
You can get it on Teacher's Pay Teacher's {HERE} and Teacher's Notebook {HERE}!!

That sheds a little bit of life on my Friday and now I am off for a little family game time!!!

:) Melanie

Growing a Garden of Learners

We are working hard this week.  My best teaching friend, Erica McKimmey and I have started team teaching our Science Mini Units!  We each spend a week teaching our own students and then we switch kids and teach the same unit again to each others students!  It is definitely one of our favorite parts of the last six weeks of school!  It is a great change for us and our little antsy learners!  This week is plants for me and weather for Erica!  Take a peek at my Mini Learning Unit on the Life Cycle of Plants!  It's super cute and an easy add on to my already growing unit!
It's just a click away!  You can get it at my TpT Store!
We've also been working hard in my newest literacy station pack Grow, Garden, Grow!

Hooray for Groundhog's Day!!!

Well today super busy...we worked so hard making predictions about that little special groundhog Phil! This morning we listened to some fun Groundhog songs we found on YouTube. Then we read some good books and did our writing craftivity!  The kiddos wrote about what they thought the groundhog would do when he came out of his burrow!
Check it out below!

You can download this fun craftivity in my Hooray, It's Groundhog's Day {Mini Learning Unit} at my TpT Store.  Just click on the link below!

Later, we spent some time making our predictions on the Mimio.  The vote stayed close the entire time.  As the students made their prediction on whether, Yes Phil will see his shadow or No Phil will not see his shadow, the class made tally marks on their Groundhog's Day Graph.  Check it out below!

They did an amazing job tallying as each student went up to make their prediction!
What hard working first graders I have!

Here are the books we loved to read today!  Happy Groundhog's Day...
